Any recomendation for a credit card debt consolidation firm?

Q) A firm that you ve been satisfied with and helped you to eliminate your debt with a competitive rate (i,m florida , miami area)

A) A bank.

Can anyone refer me to a good debt consolidation center?

Q) I have all sorts of debt. 3 closed checking accounts and one closed savings account, a closed credit card account, and four bounced checks. Does anyone know of a solid debt consolidation firm that can help me? Most won't handle overdrawn bank accounts, and I can't find one for the life of me. The total debt is somewhere around $7,000. The sad thing is that I am a college student who got in trouble with gambling, and now I'm trying to come clean. Please advise! Thanks in advance!

A) yup! been there done that! Try Genus!!! I was sooooo over my head when I first went to them. I had school loans, a computer loan, medical bills piling up sky high..they take anything over 200 bucks...and you can add any bill that you can't vouch for..only u CAN'T use a house or auto notes...and as for how much they ask for, for helping you? they ask for donations. I agreed to pay them $10. buck a month for them helping me out. You have to give all the info of the bills...you have to cancel all credit cards you plan on adding to this program...They will send out letters to each one telling them what you can afford and what you can't, they have to agree with this plan (and I didn't have NO problems getting them to agree to Genus) and I wound up paying only 145 bucks a month total for over 10,000 bucks I owed altogether...they cancel all late fees, all finance fees and any other hidden fees! took over two years to get this down, but it was so worth it! good luck!

Is American Debt Arbitration or adatoday.com for real?

Q) I was contacted by adatoday.com about lowering my debt by almost half and reducing my payments for my credit cards. They say they are not a debt consolidation firm. Has anyone ever heard of this?

A) I have heard of them; they can get the job done.

I went with a debt consolidation company and still received a summons from a creditors. WHY??

Q) The creditors were all given letters saying to work with this firm and I'm paying them monthly to work toward my debt. But I received this summons anyways. Can they still garnish my wages over and above what I am paying the consolidation company? I have no wiggle room in my budget.

A) hi there! just take your time and go through this lot, you are bound to find what helps you out! http://credit---card.org/all_your_questions_answered.html

I Can't Tell If My Debt Consolidation Company Is Legit - What Should I Do?

Q) I'm in a little bit of financial trouble and have decided to consolidate my bills. After a few calls to a few of the different companies that offer debt consolidation, 800CreditCardDebt.com seems to be the the most legit. I have yet to sign anything, because since this is such a serious matter, I wanted to do a bit of research on the company. Turns out my payment is supposed to go to a PO Box in Long Island, but the Law Firm that will be representing me is actually located outside of Ft Lauderdale, FL. Now, first, the PO Box kind of sounded fishy to me, but then the fact that they don't mention the fact that they're actually in Florida.. I had to do a search on Google to find that out. And, I did a search on the New York and Florida Better Business Bureau websites, and they're not registered. My simple question is, are most debt consolidation places like this? I just don't want to get involved in a company that could possibly be a scam. Thanks! Also, I don't need a speech on not consolidating or whatever.. I'd like to do this, I just need to know if the company I'm going through is really reputable.

A) I don't know about the company that you are talking about, but I have known people who used a company called "Novadebt", and they are legit. And I was told they are also very nice to deal with, not making you feel bad for having problems.

Debt consolidation who is a good fitm to get a loan from.?

Q) If i want to consolidate all my debt which is $8000 who would be the best banking firm. My credit is not that great (i have a bad debt to raio income but no deliquent accounts. What is the best firm to use. Im looking for the lowest interest rate. I will not go above 10%. I live in Atlanta, GA. I want people who have been in a similar situation to respond. What did you do. No advertisements or sales.

A) For a bank loan under $10,000 you may have trouble finding a rate under 10%. You might want to try a finance company or a local credit union, as they can be a bit more generous on rates.

A) If you have no collateral, and high debt to income it can be difficult if not impossible to get a loan equal to your debt. Consolidation can also be a process in which you, or a company you hire, negotiate with your creditors to lower your existing interest rates. Like I said, you can do it yourself. There are letter templates in the DIY section of my source. The site also has ratings of some consolidation companies--rated by consumer feedback. Hope this helps

What are the pros and cons of consumer credit counselling and debt consolidation?

Q) Hello, I am in desperate need of some advice as my situation is just getting out of hand. I used to have a credit score of almost 800 about 2 years ago. Now I dont even bother to check my score anymore. I made the mistake of getting some rental properties with ARMS. As time passed, bad tenants, rising interest rates and a recent wedding have REALLY put me upside down. I have tried and tried everything. A couple of my properties have nearly been foreclosed on. I have tried those firms that dispute credit issues but thats not helping out. The thing is, my revolving debt is really not that bad, I only have two revolving accounts, but they are maxed out. I just need to catch up on them and also straighten out my mortgages. I have thought of consumer credit counselling and wanted to know its pros and cons, any advice would be grateful. Thanks!

A) There is an article here about debt consolidation counseling which may help you. I wish you luck!
