Tesco insurance Questions and Answerscancel tesco insurance?Q) i canceled the tesco car insurance one month ago. i have sent back documents to them. but now i still not get the money back. my english is not good enough, so i have problem to make a phone call. who knows how long i can get the money back. is one month normally. thank u.
i have paid the annual fee.
A) The FSA have rules about how long money can be withheld from the client - in effect once Tesco have received the refund from the insurance comany then they have to send it to you the next business day. A month, these days is an unacceptably long period of time.
I would suggest you contact Tesco and ask them if they have received your request to cancel the policy and, if so, on what date and if they have received the return premium from the insurance company.
Next time - use an insurance broker. Will I lose my Tesco car insurance deposit if I cancel early?Q) I'm guessing I probably will, but I'm asking just in case!
I took out the insurance a month ago, the deposit was £119 and I pay £50 a month insurance (New driver) I also got £50 cashback with the policy which I'll most probably have to pay back.
I'm having to cancel it early as I am moving abroad and no longer need it, will I get some of the £119 back? Also, if I cancel half way through the month, do I get a partial refund? I have looked on the site but can't find these answers!
I'm not expecting much, if any, to be honest. I'm just wondering and checking.
A) When you pay monthly for car insurance and cancel early, you are still liable to pay the whole amount of the insurance premium for the year. What happens now, is they will take money off you for "Time on risk". tis will then be credited ti you so you have less of a balance to pay back.tesco travel insurance?Q) find the wesite

A) For women who insure their cars, Sheila's Wheels are superstars!if i buy full comprehensive car insurance in uk, and accident is my fault, will i be covered?Q) i heard someone had tesco insurance, comprehensive, caused an accident and was refused compensation as this accident was his fault. is his typical in uk ?
A) No this is not common! It's always a struggle having to deal with insurance companies though. Always make sure that your insurance includes legal cover (not alot extra but well worth it)! Bear in mind that alot of foreign drivers are about more than ever now, & that legal cover is a must! My girlfriend's car was written off a few years ago, when she was smashed into by an Italian lorry driver! It took months & months to resolve (I think someone in the insurance company had to learn to speak Italian ha ha) but all worked out in the end. Just make sure your car is road worthy & that it has a valid road tax certificate! Without either of these your insurance will be invalid. PS no modifications either!please help, got fully comp car insurance and injured in crash.?Q) now tesco car insurance are saying because crash was my fault i can't put in for whiplash compensation. i have sufferred alot of neck and back pain and even went to gp who said i had a severe case of whiplash but insrance won't even consider my claim. is this right? i thought i was covered with being fully comp?
A) Tesco are not covering you for personal accident, they are covering you for damage to your car and damage or injury caused by you whilst driving your car. If the accident was someone else's fault, you could claim compensation from them or their insurers. If you had caused whiplash or any other injury to another person, and you were to blame, they would claim from you and Tesco would pay out on your behalf.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news and hope you make a full recovery soon.

A) Just go for the more expensive ones then. LOL.Home insurance in the UK? how does it work?Q) I am a tenant in an appartment in London with my boyfriend. I'd like to know if I need to get a home insurance for this appartment and what king of insurance (building or content???). I mean, if there is a fire, a window broken or a inundation problem, do we have to pay for it or is it the landlord? Idem in case of burglary?
Finally where are the best place to get it? I tried to get some quote from diverse companies (HSBC, Tesco Insurance...) but the price was crazy: around £250 per year. Is that always that expensive in the UK? (I used to live in Paris and it was less that £40 a year for a complete cover insurance).
Many thanks
A) You will require home contents insurance as you do not own your building and therefore have no insurable interest in it. Typically this comes with liability as an occupier and personal liability towards others for members of your household, money and cover for certain possession outside the home. The cover can be "standard" fire flood, water damage, vandalism theft / burglary etc and then "Accidental Damage cover. Many policies include this accidental damage on certain items such as TVs computes etc in the standard package. In addition you will have some form of cover for alternative accommodation should your home become unoccupiable due to insured peril.
The premium is calculate by applying a rate to the sum insured. Eg £30,000 contents are charged at £x premium per £1000 contents. This rate is based on the postcode of the flat. Central London is expensive.
I hope this assists.
xxRDriver crashed into me has no car insurance, what are my rights?Q) A few weeks ago a young lad crashed into my wife's new car - not a lot of damage as luckily she managed to swerve out of the way for the most part - maybe £300-400 damage max - the police weren't involved (as no one was hurt)
However, it transpires that he didn't have valid insurance - Tesco (our insurers) have said that basically they aren't prepared to pursue it as "it's not worth it" leaving my wife with the only option but to either pay for it herself or pay £150 excess and make a claim from her own insurance thereby losing all no claims bonus etc - either way, it stinks.
I am working away at the moment, but I have asked her to go to the local police in the first instance to see if they are going to pursue it. I'm guessing they're probably not interested - either way, I don't see why we should pay just cos he couldn't be bothered to insure his car... Anyone know where we stand on this please? Many Thanks
A) Take him to small claims court so you can have your car damages paid. It seems so unfair that just because the driver of the other car doesn't have insurance your insurance won't help to pursue it. That is what you pay for,,,isn't it?Driver crashed into me has no car insurance, what are my rights?Q) A few weeks ago a young lad crashed into my wife's new car - not a lot of damage as luckily she managed to swerve out of the way for the most part - maybe £300-400 damage max - the police weren't involved (as no one was hurt)
